BLACKSBURG – Due to inclement weather forecast on Friday evening in the Blacksburg area, the Virginia Tech athletic department announced that Friday’s series opener between the No. 25 baseball program and No. 9 Florida State (at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park) has been postponed. The game will be rescheduled into a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12, beginning at noon.
Game two of Saturday’s doubleheader between the Hokies and the Seminoles will begin approximately 40 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
Saturday’s doubleheader games will air exclusively by radio broadcast (as hosted by Virginia Tech baseball play-by-play broadcaster Evan Hughes) via the HokieSports mobile app with pregame coverage beginning at 11:30 a.m. Additionally, both Saturday games will air live locally via WZFM-Radio 101.3 FM and 105.9 FM, as well as via Virginia Talk Radio Network in Danville and Lynchburg 93.3 FM and 1320 AM.
Sunday’s series finale remains as scheduled with first pitch slated for noon (airing live on ACC Network Extra).
Virginia Tech (23-10, 9-6 ACC) is coming off Wednesday’s 3-1 win against No. 20 Troy and enters play against Florida State (24-9, 8-4 ACC) seeking its first top-10 series victory since March/April 2023 against No. 5 Virginia.
