BLACKSBURG – The Hokies fall in the final home match of the season to the Louisville Cardinals 4-0.
Virginia Tech Women’s Tennis celebrated their five seniors on Sunday afternoon.
Mila Mulready and Linda Ziets-Segura were the bright spots for the Hokies as they picked up a 6-4 win on Court 3 in doubles. Arina Gamretkaia and Tara Gorinsek fell in a heartbreaker in the tiebreaker, 10-8 which ultimately clinched the doubles point for Louisville.
Three Hokies dropped in straight sets to the Cardinals, giving them the match.
At the time of match abandonment, Özlem Uslu was up 7-6(2), 3-1, Laima Frosch was leading in her match, 6-3, 4-4, and Gorinsek was looking to make a comeback after going down in the first set 6-3 and the second set was tied 5-5.
