Henson leads team with three goals, Jones records 17 saves in goal

Durham, N.C. - The Virginia Tech lacrosse team suffered its third consecutive loss in ACC play Saturday falling to No. 12 Duke 15-6 in a road contest. The Hokies are now 7-6 on the season and 2-4 in ACC play.

The hosts scored the game's first seven goals before Kamryn Henson found the net from a free position opportunity as time wound down in the first quarter. In the second, the Hokies battled, holding the Blue Devils to just two goals as the team's entered the locker room at 9-3

In the second half the Blue Devils started to control play in the circle where they would finish with a 17-7 advantage.

For the Hokies, Henson finished the day as the team's leading scorer with three, her third hat trick of the season. Lauren Render returned to the field, scoring twice and Mia Pozzi also found the back of the net.

In goal, Aaliyah Jones had a career day, stopping 17 Duke shots. It was her third consecutive game recording 10 or more saves.

The Hokies are back on Thompson Field on Saturday, April 5 to take on Clemson at noon.
