Boutot joins the Hokies out of St-Constant, Qc. She attended Champlain College and played in 11 matches in her rookie season. She also played club soccer with St. Hubert Soccer Club for three seasons in high school and earned the Soccer Quebec Ballon D’Or Award in 2023.
Why did you choose Virginia Tech? I chose Virginia Tech because this university is known to be great on the academic side as well as on the athletics side. I also instantly fell in love with the school when visiting. The campus is beautiful, and I felt a good connection with the coaches and players. The team chemistry was incredible and Virginia Tech’s style of play resonates with me a lot.
What was your favorite thing about your visit? My favorite thing about my visit was getting to see all the amazing facilities this university has to offer and really get a sense of what life at Virginia Tech is like. I was also lucky enough to see Virginia Tech play a home game. The ambiance was so exciting and exactly what I am looking for in a community.
What excites you the most about being part of Virginia Tech women’s soccer? I am most excited to be part of such a professional environment and talented team which will help me improve largely not only as a player but as a person.
What are some strengths of yours on the soccer field? One of my strengths is that I am a very technical player with a good vision of play. I enjoy sending long through balls to break the defensive line and dribbling opponents to gain distance on the field. In addition, I am comfortable playing with both feet which helps my technical abilities with the ball.
Who is your favorite pro player and why? My favorite pro player is Lionel Messi. He is my favorite not only for his incredible talents with the ball but for his leadership. Messi has a way of bringing his teammates together and leading by example. He is not only a leader by the things he says but by the way he plays which is something I admire about him.
What do you plan on majoring in? I plan on majoring in the Health Nutrition Food and Exercise Program.
What is one thing you want Virginia Tech fans to know about you? One thing about me is that I am a big team player and can’t wait to be part of the Hokies.
