Virginia Tech Athletics and the Hokie Club are excited to announce that the 2025 Drive Year, spanning from March 2, 2024 to March 1, 2025, concluded a remarkable fundraising period for the Hokie Scholarship Fund, supporting all Hokie student-athletes in Blacksburg. Hokie Club members provided more than $18.5 million in total annual support, marking 2025 as the second-best fundraising year ever for the Hokie Scholarship Fund. After a final tally, Virginia Tech saw 25,185 Hokie Club members give this drive year, surpassing twenty-five thousand donors for the fourth consecutive campaign. With three months left in the fiscal year, the Hokie Club plans on capitalizing on the momentum of this success by continuing to push in its sport-specific campaigns and major gifts.
"The outpouring of support from Hokie Nation is always amazing, and this year delivered incredible results yet again," said Whit Babcock, Director of Athletics. "Every year our fans prove their dedication to building the best future for our student-athletes in Blacksburg. They continue to prove they are the best fanbase in all of collegiate athletics.”
The 2025 Drive Year was a highly successful year of fundraising for the Hokie Scholarship Fund. Designed to cover the growing cost of student-athlete scholarships in Blacksburg, the Hokie Scholarship Fund accumulated $18.5 million in the 2025 Drive Year. This builds on our strong tradition of giving and continues to show the incredible loyalty of Hokies. Additionally, the Hokie Club saw a 90% renewal rate from its top 5,000 donors, underscoring the deep-rooted commitment of our supporters. We will release final numbers after the close of the fiscal year on June 30th, which will also include sport-specific and major gift fundraising totals.
"We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity of our donors," Danny White, Executive Associate AD/Administration and Support Programs said. "This year’s results reflect the dedication and passion of Hokie Nation. We could not have achieved this success without each and every person who contributed. Everyone and every gift matters – just like a team! Our competition isn’t backing down, and our supporters have once again shown the strength and loyalty of Virginia Tech fans."
