Adkins (‘25) has gained extensive experience across various areas of Virginia Tech Athletics. Discover more about her passion for athletics in this month's feature:
Q: What's your major and why did you choose it?
IA: I’m studying Public Relations because my dream would be to work in the communications department at either a Power 4 university or in the NFL.
Q: Where are you from?
IA: I am from Summit Point, West Virginia but I moved to Christiansburg before my senior year of high school.
Q: Why did you choose to attend Virginia Tech?
IA: I chose to attend Virginia Tech because I have always loved the university. My dad’s family is from this area so I got to visit frequently when I was younger. I actually had the privilege to attend two volleyball camps when I was in middle school and going into high school. Virginia Tech has always been a part of my life and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to attend VT!
Q: Favorite part about going to Virginia Tech Athletics events?
IA: My favorite part about going to VT Athletics events would have to be the atmosphere. I absolutely love jumping to Enter Sandman during football games. I truly believe that there is no other university that has an atmosphere like VT!
Q: Which Virginia Tech team do you follow the most and why?
IA: Honestly, I try to keep up with all the sports teams but I find myself following women’s basketball or lacrosse the most. For the last year, I have had the privilege of working with the lacrosse team as a student manager, so I definitely keep up with them the most!
Q: Favorite past or current Hokie athlete?
IA: Definitely former women’s basketball player Elizabeth Kitley.
Q: What’s your favorite Virginia Tech sports moment or game?
IA: My favorite Virginia Tech sports moment was when the women’s basketball team won the ACC tournament in Greensboro. My mom and I stayed in the same hotel as the team and even got to meet some of the players and the former head coach! It was a moment I will never forget.
