Track and field to compete in 18 meets during the 2025 outdoor season

The Hokies will compete in 14 regular season meets and four postseason meets.

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech director of track and field, Ben Thomas, announced the 2025 outdoor competition slate.  The ACC Outdoor Championships will be hosted by Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C. and the NCAA Outdoor Championships will be housed in Eugene, Oregon.

The Hokies will kick off the outdoor season with the throws event group heading to Coral Gables, Fla. for the Hurricane Invitational hosted by Miami and the sprints & hurdles and jumps & multis groups heading to High Point, N.C. for the Bob Davidson Team Challenge.

The jumps & multis, sprints & hurdles and distance Hokies will head to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays from March 28-29 and the pole vault group will head to Austin, Texas for the 2025 Texas Relays.

April 4-5, the whole team splits up and heads to three different meets - sprints & hurdles and jumps & multis groups at the Virginia Grand Prix in Charlottesville, Va., pole vault at the Vertklasse Meeting in High Point, N.C. and throws at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla.

Sprints & hurdles, jumps & multis and distance groups will head to Durham, N.C. for the Duke Invitational from April 11-12, with a portion of the sprints group heading to Texas A&M for the 44 Farms Team Invitational.  That same weekend, the pole vault squad will head down to Columbia, S.C. for the Gamecock Invite.

The program will hit the road April 18-19 for the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., competing as a full team, except for the pole vaulter squad) for the first time in outdoor season.

Three of the five event groups will head to Charlottesville, Va. for the 2025 Virginia High Performance Meet on April 27 - jumps & multis, distance and pole vault will make the trek to the commonwealth foe's home track.

To close out the outdoor regular season slate, Virginia Tech sprints & hurdles, pole vault, jumps & multis and throws will compete at the Big Orange Invitational in Knoxville, Tenn. while distance is at the Hill City Twilight in Lynchburg, Va. on May 2.

The ACC Indoor Championship will be hosted by Wake Forest from May 15-17 in Winston-Salem, N.C.  The NCAA East Regional will be hosted in Jacksonville, Fla. from May 28-31 for athletes to earn qualifications for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. over June 11-14.

Outdoor season will officially conclude July 31-Aug. 1 at the USATF Championships in Eugene, Ore.
