CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Michelle Chatfield was tabbed ACC Player of the Week and Emma Lemley garnered ACC Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Additionally, Chatfield was named D1 Softball National Player of the Week.
Chatfield hit .636 with four home runs, seven RBIs and a 1.727 slug percentage in Tech’s sweep at Louisville. She hit a home run in each of the Hokies’ wins and recorded two or more RBIs in all three wins as well.
Overall, Chatfield went 7-for-15 with a .467 average and four home runs over Tech’s four wins. It is the first ACC and D1 Softball weekly honor of Chatfield’s career.
Lemley continued her stellar season in the circle as she tallied her nation-leading fourth no-hitter in Tech’s 2-0 win at Kentucky. She posted nine strikeouts in her complete-game shutout over the Wildcats.
She also got the win in Tech’s 5-2 victory over Louisville on Friday night. She allowed just four hits and struck out five over seven innings pitched. She then pitched three innings of relief in the Hokies’ 12-5 win on Sunday with six strikeouts.
Over three appearances, Lemley finished with a 1.65 ERA, 20 strikeouts and two wins.
It marks Lemley’s conference-leading third ACC Pitcher of the Week honor this season.
