Tech (18-12), which is 2-0 all-time against the Aggies (19-11), will take on an NC A&T squad that won the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) regular-season title with a 15-3 record. Thursday’s matchup marks the third time the Aggies have faced an ACC opponent this season, falling to both SMU and North Carolina during nonconference play.

NC A&T is led by Tarrell Robinson, who is in his 13th season in Greensboro, and won the 2024-25 CAA Coach of the Year award. He has earned five regular-season titles and three conference tournament crowns in his coaching career.

On the court, the Aggies’ success has been behind guard Jordyn Dorsey, who is a two-time All-CAA performer and NC A&T’s all-time assist leader (398). A&T also has two other student-athletes who earned all-conference honors this season, including guard Maleia Bracone and center Chaniya Clark.

The Aggies' strength is getting it done defensively, holding opponents to just 55.3 points per game, ranking 14th nationally, and doing so by playing fundamental defense, as they commit only 13.5 fouls per game (16th nationally). Additionally, they hold teams to shooting low percentages from downtown with their tough close-outs, ranking 20th nationally for defensive 3-point percentage (27.3%).

The two previous matchups between Tech and A&T took place in 2012, a 58-39 victory for the Hokies, and 2007, an 85-56 triumph for Tech.
