Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG - Knocking on the door of the big leagues, five former Virginia Tech baseball stars competed in Major League Baseball's second annual Spring Breakout weekend, a four-day prospect showcase held between March 13 and March 16 at spring training facilities around the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues.

• Carson DeMartini (Philadelphia) crushed a go-ahead, solo homer during the bottom of the seventh inning of the Phillies' March 14 win against Pittsburgh. DeMartini scored two runs during the contest. [WATCH]
• Carson Jones (Seattle) drew a walk and later came around to score during the top of the eighth inning of the Mariners' March 14 game against Cleveland.
