CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The ACC annouced Nate Paris as the men's Field Athlete of the Week and Stuart Pirtle as the men's Freshman Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Paris and Pirtle competed in their first heptathlons of the 2025 season this past weekend at the Doc Hale Elite meet.  It was the third collegaite heptathlon for Paris and the first collegiate for Pirtle.

Nate Paris catured the program record and the U23 Canadian national record in the heptathlon.  Previously, Paris was third in the all-time top-10 performers list, but after collecting 5,858 in his 2025 heptathlon debut, the multi secured the Tech record by 33 points.  Paris boasted career-best marks in five of the seven events and was the top collegiate performer in the event.  The 5,858 points places Paris 16th in the world thus far in 2025, first in the ACC and fifth in the NCAA. 

Stuart Pirtle, in his collegiate heptathlon debut, collected 5,284 points - a feat that landed him in the No. 4 slot of the all-time top-10 performers list for Virginia Tech.  He currently sits at sixth in the ACC and 52nd in the NCAA.  Pirtle collected two career-best marks in the hepathlon's events.
