Sara Killinen tabbed as ACC Field Athlete of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - On Tuesday afternoon, the ACC announced Sara Killinen as the ACC Women's Field Athlete of the Week. The selection becomes the second of Killinen's career.

In the home- and season-opener for Virginia Tech track & field, Killinen captured the event win in the weight throw, with a tied career-best mark of 22.66m (74'4.25").  The event win becomes the fourth of her career in the event.  The tied-career high of 22.66m holds Killinen steady in the top-10 all-time performers list at number two.

Sara Killinen and the rest of the Hokies are back in action this upcoming weekend at the Hokie Inviatational in Blacksburg and the Red Raider Invite in Lubbock, Texas.
