BLACKSBURG – A day after signing to become a member of Virginia Tech's class of 2025, Ben Baker was named a 2024 Rolex Junior All-America Honorable Mention selection by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Thursday.
Baker was one of 48 junior golfers recognized on the honorable mention team. The Broadlands, Va., native ranks No. 35 nationally by the AJGA after winning a pair of events over the summer. He prevailed at the Nemacolin Junior Championship in Farmington, Pa., by firing rounds of 71-69-69. A week later, Baker captured the AM Technical Solutions Junior at Southpointe behind a 1-over 217 (72-71-74) in Canonsburg, Pa.
In total, Baker posted five top-20 showings last summer on the AJGA circuit, including a tie for third at The Lanto Junior Championship at nearby Blacksburg Country Club. He carded an 8-under 208 (68-71-69).
