BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech earned a point on the road with a 0-0 draw at Miami on Thursday night at Cobb Stadium.

It marks the seventh shutout of the season for the Hokies. Tech is now 3-1-1 in ACC play with the tie.

How it Happened
The Hokies had several good chances in the first half. Sarah Rosenbaum delivered a stellar pass to Natalie Mitchell in the 18th minute but her shot was unable to find the back of the net. Mitchell also launched a rocket from just outside the 18-yard-box in the 34th minute to try and take the lead but it went just high over the crossbar.

Tech controlled most of the first half and finished the first 45 minutes leading 8-1 in shots while also earning two corner kicks.

The Hurricanes came alive in the second half and were pressuring the Hokies relentlessly – outshooting Tech 12-5. The Hokie defense, however, held steady and continued to keep Miami off the board.

Two saves from Lauren Hargrove and two great defensive plays from Allie George kept the Hurricanes scoreless in the final 12 minutes as the Hokies finished with a 0-0 draw.

It’s the seventh shutout for the Hokies this season.
