BLACKSBURG – After recording its third consecutive ACC win, Virginia Tech football spoke with the media to discuss its 21-6 victory over Georgia Tech. The Hokies were led by starting signal caller Kyron Drones and a stout defense that didn't surrender a touchdown. Head coach Brent Pry took the podium to begin the press conference and was followed by defensive coach Shawn Quinn and linebacker Keli Lawson. Read and watch below for quotes about the Homecoming game:

Head coach Brent Pry

On the defense not allowing a touchdown:
"Yeah, they play hard as heck. They really do, which is half the battle. I thought our fits were better; our key reads were better. We made them earn it, which is important. Against a group that coming into this game, I thought they really ran the ball well. They knew how to run the ball; they made it challenging. They have a nice tailback; they have a good o-line. But, you know, we got three or four fourth down stops, we got a couple of takeaways, and we just did the things that were necessary, to play good defense, to minimize points. And when you do that, you're gonna have a good chance to win the game."

STARs coach Shawn Quinn

On the defensive effort in the second half:
"Yeah, they made the change at quarterback and he threw it well. Just stylistically, they changed a little bit. Our guys did a good job of adjusting. Obviously, Keli Lawson's interception was big. I thought the guys came out and played really well. He's a good football player. He stayed alive on some things with our rush. Obviously, we always lean on our front. That's one of our biggest strengths on our entire football team. I thought those guys played well. They passed pro'd well, so it was a challenge for us. And they kind of really ran the football well. And in that second half, they went to throwing the football. And I thought our guys did a good job of adjusting. I thought they showed some grit and toughness. We made a few adjustments schematically and changed up some things. Coach Chris Marve had a great game plan. And I thought we did a good job. And obviously, the turnovers were huge and the fourth down stops."

Linebacker Keli Lawson

On being his healthiest so far this season:
"All glory to God for putting me in a position to go out there, do what I do. I know at the beginning of the year, I haven't played nowhere near the expectations I have for myself. And it's just been a battle since week one, just trying to get my body back, trying to get my mental back, trying to get my feet underneath me. And hopefully, it showed today."
