Tech starts first half strong

BLACKSBURG – The Hokies got pivotal plays from both sides of the ball in the first half, leading them to a commanding 28-0 halftime lead over Boston College Thursday.

Quarterback Kyron Drones was electric in the air, going 12-for-13 for 144 passing yards and a touchdown. Running back Bhayshul Tuten has been electric, too, dashing for 128 yards on eight carries and two rushing touchdowns, as well as hauling in a 20-yard touchdown right before halftime.

Defensively, Tech has been showcasing its Lunch Pail Defense, with forcing two fumbles, two sacks and pitching a shutout the first 30 minutes of play.

Antwaun Powell-Ryland is having one of those nights, recording five tackles, two TFLs, two sacks and a forced fumble.
