Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG- Carles Coll Marti and Rocky Ramsland were tabbed ACC Swimmer and Diver of the week for their performances in the season-opener against George Washington.
Coll Marti had an outstanding dual-meet, taking home four first-place finishes. He kicked the day off with a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, swimming a 59.30. He then competed in the 200 IM, taking first with a 1:46.28.
On top of his individual events, Coll Marti competed in the 200 medley relay, helping the Hokies to a win with their time of 1:26.36. He also swam in the 400 freestyle relay to close out the meet, placing first with a 2:57.71.
Ramsland also had stellar performances on the boards in the season opener, earning NCAA Zone Cuts in both his events. He took first place on 1-meter with a score of 325.58, and third place on 3-meter with a score of 341.25.
Up next, the Hokies will split up competition with a squad heading to the SMU Classic (Oct. 11-12) in Dallas, Texas, and hosting a home meet against Carson-Newman (Oct. 12) at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
