Kitley and Amoore recognized by Hoop Hall Awards this week

Virginia Tech center Elizabeth Kitley was named to the Lisa Leslie Award Top Ten List, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and WBCA announced Friday afternoon. Kitley, the two-time ACC Player of the Year has been on a tear in January, averaging 27.6 points and 10.6 rebounds in seven games. She's shooting 57% from the floor in that span.
 


Earlier this week, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and WBCA announced their Top Ten for the Nancy Lieberman Award, which featured the Hokies' Georgia Amoore. The senior returned to the court Thursday against Georgia Tech and secured her fourth double-double of the season with 24 points and 13 assists against the Jackets. She went 9-16 from the field and 4-7 from beyond the arc. This season she is averaging 16.8 points and 7.3 assists, a mark that is fourth in the nation.

The Hokies are back in action on Sunday, Jan. 28 at No. 22 Syracuse. That game tips off at noon and can be seen on ACCN.
