Lane Stadium seats are renumbered and more

Gameday Central Visit SeatGeek Parking Map Seating Map

The sights and sounds of gameday in Blacksburg are back, as Virginia Tech football plays host to Marshall on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. ET on The CW, with gates opening two hours out at 2:30 p.m.

The atmosphere should be electric, with the game being announced a sellout. Fans still seeking ticket options for the matchup are encouraged to visit SeatGeek, the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of Virginia Tech Athletics.

Get ready for gameday with five things to know for the Hokies' clash with the Thundering Herd.

1. Lane Stadium Renumbering
Announced last year, Lane Stadium’s seating was renumbered to improve fan navigation on gameday. Sections and seat numbers will change to sequential order while the rows will stay the same.

Virginia Tech Athletics recommends that fans familiarize themselves ahead of time to ensure a smooth trip to their seats. Click here to view the seating map. To view a side-by-side comparison of the old seating map next to the new seating map, click here.

Need directions to get to your seat while in the stadium or to grab food at concessions or more? Visit the interactive Lane Stadium map to chart your best course.

2. Your Phone Being Prepared is Crucial
Be sure to download your mobile ticket to your wallet before you arrive at the stadium. This eliminates the variable of not having strong Wi-Fi around the stadium and not being able to download it. Click here for more information on downloading mobile tickets.

Fans can download their tickets through the HokieSports mobile app. Click here to download the HokieSports mobile app.

Lane Stadium is a mobile-first and cashless venue when it comes to ticketing and concessions. Once inside, only a credit or debit card will be accepted at the concession stands for those wanting to purchase food and drink. There will be a limited number of pre-paid cards available for purchase with cash at the Hokie Shop trailer in Lot 4 outside of Lane Stadium.

Have tickets and can't make the game? Mobile tickets can be easily transferred to peers or can also be listed with peace of mind on SeatGeek.

3. Parking and Postgame Traffic Patterns
Football parking (click to view info/map) and tailgating on gameday is a valued commodity, and it becomes extremely significant as we welcome the entire Virginia Tech community to campus. Therefore, to ensure that each game day guest has a positive and safe tailgating experience, fans should adhere to these parking rules. Click here to learn more about postgame traffic patterns.

4. Enjoy the Pregame Festivities
There is a lot happening in Blacksburg on Saturday, and we want you to be equipped to partake in it all.

Hokie Village
Located on the turf soccer/lacrosse practice field off Beamer Way, the complimentary fan fest area opens at 1 p.m. and closes at 3:45 p.m. Fans can enjoy food trucks and drinks available for purchase. Free activities include inflatables, a balloon artist, face painting, live music from the Jared Stout Band and autograph signings from the softball and wrestling teams.

Hokie Walk
Hokie Nation will be able to welcome the Hokies as they arrive at Lane Stadium. The buses will arrive on Beamer Way outside of Lane Stadium at approximately 1:50 p.m.

March to Victory
The Marching Virginians lead the March to Victory from the Marching Virginians Center to Lane Stadium at approximately 3 p.m. Joined by members of the HighTechs, Corps of Cadets and Skipper, the march leaves the Marching Virginians Center at the top of Chicken Hill, winds through Lot 5 on to Sterrett Drive between Lots 2 and 3 and finishes along the sidewalk outside of South End Zone into Lane.

5. 1999 Team is Back
The team that was the national runner-up in 1999 returns for a warm welcome in front of Hokie Nation during the game. Members of the 1999 BIG EAST championship team will be honored during the second quarter.
