BLACKSBURG – Following its season-opening matchup in Nashville, Virginia Tech football turns its focus towards Marshall. Early Tuesday afternoon, head coach Brent Pry, tight end Benji Gosnell and safety Jaylen Jones spoke with local media about Saturday's matchup in Lane Stadium. Read and watch below to see what they had to say ahead of the home opener.

Head Coach Brent Pry

Opening statement about Hokie Nation and the home opener:
"You know, it doesn't take away from how tremendous Hokie Nation was. The turnout was incredible. We all appreciate it as players and coaches and understand how special it is. We're very, very fortunate that way. We all look forward to the crowd for our first home game against Marshall. Students, the student section, sell-out crowd. It's a special deal being back in Lane Stadium. We're looking forward to it."

On shifting the momentum after slow starts:
"Most practices, we started with a competitive period to get the guys going. I think when you start slow, you have to have a momentum swing. I talked about it with the staff. We need to be aggressive as playcallers in those situations, and we need to go make plays. Just swing it back to get out of that thing quicker than we did."

Safety Jaylen Jones

On the benefits of playing at home:
"We get a big boost, especially at home. Just knowing that we're on our home turf, we can't let anybody come in here and disrespect us. So that's just a big thing for us. It's a pride thing for sure."

Tight End Benji Gosnell

On the excitement of playing at Lane Stadium:
"Yeah, it means everything. We have the best fan base in the country. I have zero doubt about that. And to come out and put on a show for them Saturday against Marshall. I'm pretty sure it's a sellout crowd. The team's going to be fired up at practice today. The team's going to be fired up Saturday. And we're ready to go out and do our thing."
