BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech football met with the local media on Monday in preparation for its Friday night matchup against the No. 7 Miami Hurricanes. The Hokies are slated to play the first of straight two road games to open conference play. Head coach Brent Pry took the podium alongside student-athletes Cole Nelson and Ayden Greene to discuss the Week 5 matchup. To see what they had to say, read and watch below:

Head coach Brent Pry

On renewing the rivalry against Miami:
"Yeah, I think it's one of the better rivalries in college football. I'm glad that they're back on our schedule. I think it's good for us and good for our league. Now we got to go down and play competitive. They're doing their part, we got to do ours."

On cornerback Mansoor Delane's ability to create turnovers:
"He's not just a corner that goes out there and covers. I think he runs to the ball well. He's got a physical presence to him that complements his game. I think he was very disappointed in that first ball game. And I think to bounce back is a testament to the type of young man he is. It was important for him to work harder, invest more, and play better for us and for him, and he's done that, and he's got to continue to do it. He's one of those guys that we have to count on week in and week out."

Defensive end Cole Nelson

On playing on a short week:
"Yeah, Friday game, we gotta get back. We gotta get back, we gotta get ready. It's not like our opponent's waiting on us. We gotta go back in there and get ready to get our bodies refreshed as best as possible and just get back out there."

Wide receiver Ayden Greene

On the first ACC matchup of the season:
"You know, but going into conference play, we're motivated as ever. This is when it really starts to matter and we still have a lot we're trying to achieve. So, morale is high, holding each other accountable, move on to the next game and go 1-0."
