Virginia Tech men’s soccer took Moseley Field on Tuesday morning to kickstart its 2024 preseason. Over a pair of two-hour periods, the Hokies went through fitness and on-the-ball drills in their first organized training sessions of the new campaign.
Last spring, senior Carter Hensley was named team captain entering his fourth season with the Hokies. In a team meeting on Monday night, fellow senior Willie Cardona was named the squad’s second captain, as he approaches his third year with Virginia Tech.
The two veterans are tasked with bringing together a group that consists of 14 newcomers and 14 returners. Over the next two weeks, the Hokies will have a two-a-day sessions to build the chemistry needed to compete on the national stage.
