Hokie ClubCHARLOTTE, N.C. – Virginia Tech’s Willie Cardona was named to the 2024 ACC Preseason Watch List, as announced by the league on Wednesday.
Cardona, a native of Fort Mill, S.C., has appeared in 24 games for the Hokies, including 11 starts, since transferring from Winthrop ahead of the 2022 season.
Originally a midfielder, Cardona found his footing in an outside back role last season and started 10 matches for Tech. The senior logged 90 minutes in seven of his 14 appearances last year.
Cardona was tabbed a team captain, standing along Carter Hensley, ahead of the Hokies’ 2024 fall season.
