White elevated to Director of Player Development, Technology and Analytics

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head coach Pete D'Amour has announced the promotion of Megan White to Director of Player Development, Technology, and Analytics.

“Megan’s been a tremendous addition since she arrived last summer,” D'Amour said. “Her work ethic, knowledge, and personality align with what Virginia Tech softball is about. Megan is as good of an analyst as there is in college athletics and we’re grateful she’s a part of our program.”

White spent the 2024 season as the Director of Player Development and Technology. She was instrumental overseeing the team’s analytics, as well as statistics and data. White also provides administrative and recruiting support for the Hokies.

Virginia Tech had a stellar 2024 season with White on staff. The Hokies advanced to their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament and earned the No. 2 seed in the Los Angeles Regional. Tech finished the year ranked in the top five of several major offensive categories, including No. 2 nationally in home runs per game (2.09) and No. 3 nationally in slugging percentage (.633)

“I am excited for another year at Virginia Tech and grateful for the opportunity to continue to work with such an amazing staff and team," White said. "I can’t wait to continue using analytics to develop our athletes and help our program win.”

White joined the Hokies after spending a year as a programmer at Stat One LLC, where she created client requested graphics, including tables, listings and figures, using clinical trial data and Stat One company macros, in addition to other coding methods. She also participated in data management programming and validation to organize and import client data to conform to ADaM and SDTM standards.

She also spent a season with the Carolina Wolves Collegiate Summer Baseball Team, where she served as the Data Analyst and Softball Integration Specialist. White participated in the player development process, while gathering, managing and interpreting data through the use of Game Changer, Blast Motion and Pitch Logic technology.

A four-year letterwinner at Elon, White appeared in 121 games for the Phoenix, recording 68 hits, including 13 doubles and 16 home runs. She finished her career with a .516 slugging percentage and 58 RBI. White graduated in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Statistics and a minor in Political Science.
