Hokie alums ink new professional contracts

Victoria Haugen signs with NC Courage, Nicole Kozlova signs with Glasgow City FC

BLACKSBURG – Two Virginia Tech women’s soccer alums continue to shine and have signed new professional contracts.

Victoria Haugen signed a National Team Replacement contract with the North Carolina Courage and Nicole Kozlova secured a two-year deal with Glasgow City FC.

Haugen has been training with the NC Courage all season after joining the team in preseason as a non-roster invitee. She was a pivotal member of the NC Courage The Soccer Tournament team that reached the final of the competition’s inaugural women’s bracket. 

She started 70 career matches during her four years with the Hokies. Tallying 6,107 career minutes, she aided Virginia Tech to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021 and 2022. Haugen also finished her career in Blacksburg with six assists. 

Kozlova heads to Scotland following a season in Ukraine representing FC Vorskla Poltava where she claimed a League and Cup double at the Ukrainian Championships. Before Vorskla Poltava, the former Hokie had a successful stint with HB Køge in Denmark where she won the Danish title in back-to-back seasons. 

The Toronto, Ontario, native has been a staple on the international scene, representing Ukraine on 35 occasions In October 2021, she competed for Ukraine during the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying round, scoring the opening goal during Ukraine's 4-0 UEFA Group B victory against the Faroe Islands. 

She was a force playing for the Hokies, scoring 14 goals and five assists for 33 points over three seasons. Kozlova made 37 starts through 40 matches and finished her career with six game-winning goals.
