FORT MYERS, Fla. – South Carolina, winner of two of the last three national championships, headlines the eight teams participating in the 2024 Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off. This year’s event will be held Nov. 28-30 on the campus of Florida Southwestern State College.

South Carolina, Iowa State, Purdue and Middle Tennessee make up the four teams of the Island Division and Virginia Tech, Michigan, Belmont and Davidson are the quartet making up the Shell Division. The teams of the Island Division will play two games each against pre-determined opponents while the Shell Division will be a traditional bracketed tournament.

Additionally, it was announced that Elevance Health will continue as the title sponsor of the event, agreeing to a multi-year extension that first began with the launch of the Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off in 2022.

The game schedule for the Hokies and the Shell Division is as follows (game times and distribution details will be announced in the coming weeks):

Date Division Matchup
Friday, Nov. 29 Shell Michigan vs. Belmont
Friday, Nov. 29 Shell Virginia Tech vs. Davidson
Saturday, Nov. 30 Shell Third-Place Game
Saturday, Nov. 30 Shell Championship Game

The collective power of the programs will make the Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off one of the strongest early season tournament fields this year. The teams have combined for 122 NCAA Tournament appearances. The four teams of the Island Division combine for 90 NCAA berths and four national titles between them – South Carolina owning three and Purdue having claimed one. In addition to the Gamecocks, Iowa State, Middle Tennessee, Michigan and Virginia Tech were selected to the NCAA Tournament last year.
