BLACKSBURG - Former Virginia Tech women's soccer athlete Victoria "Dori" Haugen showcased her skills as an NC Courage trialist in the 7v7 The Soccer Tournament in Cary, N.C.
"I am forever grateful and blessed to have had this opportunity," said Haugen. "I am so honored to have played with Jessica McDonald, represent NC Courage, and make history in this inaugural tournament for the women. I cannot thank NC Courage enough for this amazing opportunity."
Haugen started in all five matches of the tournament recording 12 shots and one goal. Her tournament appearance was highlighted by a goal in the 55th minute of the match against Soccerhead FC (5-3) in the third round of group play, advancing her team to the semifinals. Haugen logged a tournament high of six shots and one goal in the match with Soccerhead.
"Scoring my goal was and will be unforgettable moment for me," said Haugen. "I told myself I had no choice but to score so I can help my team advance to the semifinals."

NC Courage went on to defeat Streetball FC Canada in the semifinals 2-0. In the finals, NC Courage kept the score even in the first 31 minutes of play (3-3) before the US Women's team took the lead and scored three unanswered goals, winning 6-3. Haugen recorded two shots against the US Women.
