LEXINGTON, Ky. - Sophomore Katrin Brzyszkowska set a personal-best mark in shot put on day two of the East Prelims in Lexington, Ky., to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Brzyszkowska became the first Tech female to qualify for the NCAA Championships this season. She recorded three clean attempts in the shot put with a first round mark of 55' 11.75" (17.06m) immediately putting herself into the top 10.

She held onto her eighth place spot putting 55' 0.75" (16.78m) on her second attempt and 54' 8" (16.66m) on her third. Her first round mark of 55' 11.75" (17.06m) ranks third on the Hokies all-time performance list. She will be joining Conner McClure (pole vault) and Sean Murphy (decathlon) in Eugene, Ore. next month.
Junior Lindsey Butler earned an automatic qualifying spot into the 1500m quarterfinals finishing third in heat one of the prelims with a time of 4:12.81. Butler is looking to make her seventh career appearance at the NCAA Championships.
Star Price crossed the finish line second in heat two of the 800m prelims with a time of 2:04.01. Price's second-place finish earned her an automatic qualifying spot into the 800m quarterfinals on Saturday.
Sophomore Barbora Stejfova's season came to an end on Thursday, finishing 25th in hammer with a mark of 190' 2" (57.95m).
