Following its fifth straight NCAA Tournament selection, Virginia Tech softball met with the media inside Lane Stadium on Sunday.

Head coach Pete D'Amour, pitcher Emma Lemley and outfielder Emma Ritter held separate interview sessions. Read below for what they had to say.

PETE D'AMOUR
On his thoughts on the draw and matchups this weekend:

"I like it so far. I haven't looked too much at those teams outside of Grand Canyon because we played them earlier this year. But, yeah. We're just getting into this and now we know where we're going and can prepare."

EMMA LEMLEY
On what her reaction was when she saw the team was heading to Los Angeles:

"Well, the first thing I said was, 'Oh, my gosh,' because I think that was the last place any of us were expecting to go. But we've played Grand Canyon before and all of those teams are going to give everyone a challenge. We're just looking forward to that first game against San Diego State."

EMMA RITTER
On comparing where the program was her freshman year when they went to UCLA to now:

"The four years have gone by quickly and a part of that reason is because the teams have stayed so even keel throughout the year. And it's not just the fact that we have great softball players and great athletes. I feel so blessed to be able to play with amazing girls every single day. But the fact that we have such great women off the field. I think our team is so special this year, especially, where we have such a close-knit bond. I think that really motivates us to go out and play for each other."
