Kobe Valociek earns NCAA regional bid

BLACKSBURG — Virginia Tech men's golfer Kobe Valociek has been selected to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship's Austin Regional, May 13-15, as announced Wednesday afternoon on the Golf Channel.

Valociek is one of 45 individuals selected for six NCAA regional sites. He is one of 10 individuals in Austin, Texas. The Austin Regional will be played May 13-15 at The University of Texas Golf Club.

A senior from Peoria, Arizona, Valociek leads the Hokies in stroke average at 72.38. He had two top-10 showings, including a first-place showing at the Steelwood Collegiate in October.

Regional play will take place May 13-15 at six regional sites. Three regional sites have 13 teams and 10 individuals and three other sites have 14 teams and five individuals. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team (six individuals total) from each regional site will advance to play in the national championships at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California (May 24-29).
