BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry, along with student-athletes Jaden Keller and Layth Ghannam, met with local media on Tuesday morning to discuss the team's growth during Phase Two of their offseason workout program. The Hokies are scheduled to conclude spring ball this Saturday with their annual spring game, presented by PMSI.

Read below to see what they had to say.

Head coach Brent Pry

On the format of the Spring Game:
"Yeah, we're going to continue with what we've done. We're going to play four quarters. Right now, the first quarter, our plan is to be 15 minutes; in the second quarter, 12 minutes, true clock, both quarters. Then, in the third and fourth quarters, twelve minutes of running clock. Sometimes injuries and other things can affect that, but that's the plan right now."

On making the game more competitive and exploring talent:
"I do, and that's one of the reasons we're going to continue with the plan to make it competitive. I don't know if that was the right thing to do last year for that reason. But I do think we're in a better place from a depth standpoint on both fronts. Really across the team to play competitively for four quarters, with the team split, which is, you know, if we can go do that, that's a good sign."

Lineback Jaden Keller

On excitement around the spring game:
"Oh, man, that's the best thing I can wait for. After the season ends, all you can wait for is for that first game back. So we're doing all this hard work, all this hitting, all this stuff. But really, the main goal is to get back in there. So just prepare every day until I come back."

Offensive Lineman Layth Ghannam

On the continuity of having offensive line coach Ron Crook:
"Last year, we were still filling everything around, like the techniques were different, so we were all learning different stuff that we hadn't done before. So, it's just been a little bit of an adjustment. But definitely this year we're all good; the line's been pretty solid."
