CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Virginia Tech's Vlad Puchko was named ACC Men's Rookie of the Week, announced the conference on Tuesday.
Puchko provided a strong performance for the Hokies on day one of the Tennessee Invite finishing first in discus with a personal-best sixth round mark of 61.26m (201' 0").
Puchko dominated the event with six clean throws, each good enough to land him a first-place finish and rank him among the top 25 in the NCAA. He currently ranks eighth in the NCAA, first in the ACC, and is second on the Hokies All-Time Performance List.
