CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Thursday afternoon, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced its All-ACC team selections, with Ryan Fishback being named to the All-ACC third team.
A consistent starter on court one, Fishback reached as high as No. 56 in the country, beginning his senior season with six wins in his first seven matches. He finished the spring with an 8-12 record and never fell out of the ITA rankings in singles, where he currently sits at No. 101. This is Fishback's third-straight All-ACC selection after being named to the second team in both 2022 and 2023.
Fishback's marquee victory came against then No. 25 Filippo Moroni, a fellow All-ACC selection, of then ranked No. 3 Wake Forest. He earned the upset by defeating Moroni by scores of 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (10-7). He also secured a straight-set victory against Caleb Saltz of Boston College on his Senior Day.
Virginia Tech (10-11, 3-9 ACC) became ineligible for postseason play after suffering a loss to No. 17 Florida State in the second round of the ACC Championships, 4-1. The NCAA DI Men's Tennis Championship field will be announced on Monday, April 29 at 6 p.m with individual selections announced on Tuesday, April 30.
