BLACKSBURG – Seeded eighth in the 2024 ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship, Virginia Tech will host nine-seed Louisville on Sunday, April 21 at Thompson Field in the tournament's first round.
Admission is free for the game, which is set for a noon start. Fans can park for free in Lot 1 and gates will open at 11 a.m.
This will be Tech's second meeting with Louisville this season after defeating the Cardinals, 14-10, on February 24 in the team's ACC opener. Olivia Vergano had a five-goal outing in that matchup, complementing a defensive performance that featured 10 caused turnovers by the team and nine saves from Jocelyn Torres.
Virginia Tech will be seeking its third ACC tournament game victory in program history, along with its second in as many seasons. The Hokies defeated Pitt, 18-6, last season in a first-round meeting at Thompson Field. Ella Rishko, an ACC All-Freshman Team selection in 2023, tied the conference tournament single-game record with seven goals on that day.
The Hokies wrapped up their regular season campaign on Wednesday with a narrow 14-12 defeat to No. 6 Virginia. Following the game, head coach Kristen Skiera spoke with media about the upcoming ACC tournament.
