BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The 2024 WNBA Draft will take place on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Virginia Tech women's basketball's Elizabeth Kitley is expected to hear her name called.

Kitley, whose jersey will be retired by Virginia Tech, will be on site in Brooklyn, along with 14 other prospects. The WNBA Draft features three rounds and 12 picks per round.

The 6-foot-6 center is the most decorated player in Virginia Tech's storied history and owns numerous school records. During her five years in Blacksburg, she led Tech to two ACC titles (one regular season, one tournament) and four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the Final Four. She also was a three-time ACC Player of the Year and two-time All-American.

A total of eight Hokies have been drafted in the WNBA, including three in the last two years. Aisha Sheppard was drafted in 2022 to Las Vegas (No. 23 overall), while both Kayana Traylor (Chicago, No. 23 overall) and Taylor Soule (Minnesota, No. 28 overall) were selected in 2023. Once Kitley is drafted, it will mark the first time in school history a Hokie has been selected in the WNBA Draft three years in a row.
