BLACKSBURG – As spring continues to bloom in the New River Valley, the No. 16 Virginia Tech baseball team has added a contest to its regular season schedule, inviting North Carolina A&T into English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park on Wednesday, May 1.
First pitch between the Hokies and the Aggies is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Through games played on April 7, Virginia Tech (21-8, 10-5 ACC) owns the second best record within the ACC Coastal Division, trailing first-place [No. 13] North Carolina by one game in the standings. The Hokies – who are 13-5 at home this season – rank No. 34 in the NCAA Division I Baseball RPI.
North Carolina A&T (18-11, 3-6 CAA) won a true road series at College of Charleston during late March, competing within the ever-scrappy Coastal Athletic Association (ranked No. 13 in conference RPI).
