Hokies ready for battle for conference crown

CHAPEL HILL, NC – The Virginia Tech wrestling team is set to compete on Sunday, March 10 in Carmichael Arena, Chapel Hill, NC at the 2024 ACC Wrestling Championships. The Hokies will look to add to their 15th ACC title – their seventh tournament title and the first since 2018.

The Hokies open the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships this weekend in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with six Tech competitors garnering top-two seeds and none below three in their respective weight classes.
 
The Returners

• Eight Hokies will be making a return to the conference championship led by three-time ACC Champion, Mekhi Lewis
• Caleb Henson and Sam Latona will look to add a second ACC title to their resumes on Sunday
• Bryce Andonian, Connor Brady, and Hunter Catka seek the top of the podium after runner-up finishes in their previous league championships
• Tom Crook and Andy Smith return to the championships and will look to climb upon their past finishes

 
The New Faces

• Cooper Flynn and Thomas Stewart, Jr. will make their ACC Championships debut in their first season in the Hokies' starting lineup

 
Chasing History

• Mekhi Lewis will look to become just the 11th four-time champion in ACC history
• Lewis will look to join Devin Carter as the only four-time ACC champion in program history – Joe Heller, Sherman Vandevender, and Brandon Glover all claimed four SoCon titles for the Hokies

 
Schedule
First-round action kicks off the event at 11 a.m., semifinals set for 1 p.m., followed by the consolation finals at 3:30 p.m. and consolation finals at 5 p.m. all streaming on ACC Network Extra. Championship matches begin at 7 p.m. live on ACC Network.
