BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech's Mylyjael Poteat announced Saturday he will return to the Hokies for his fifth season of college basketball.
Originally entering the transfer portal during the middle of last week, Poteat relayed his return via Instagram. "After speaking with my family and my coaches, I've decided there's no other place I'd rather be for my final year than Blacksburg," he posted. "Hokie Nation is special, from our coaches, our fans and our community. This is just the beginning. Stay tuned. This is home!"
The Reidsville, North Carolina native averaged 6.4 points per game this season, nearly doubling his scoring output from 2022-23. One of the most efficient shooters in the ACC, Poteat connected on 64.4% of his field-goal attempts.
