CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Virginia Tech second baseman Cameron Fagan has been named the ACC Player of the Week and D1 Softball National Player Of The Week, the league announced Tuesday morning. The senior earned the award after leading the Hokies at the plate last week with 12 hits.
Fagan posted a .667 batting average with 11 RBI and six runs through five games last week. The senior recorded a career-high six RBI in the win against Maryland Eastern Shore Wednesday. She helped secure the win against No. 13/15 Alabama, going 4-for-5, including a two-RBI single to put the Hokies ahead in the eighth.
Fagan leads the team with 34 RBI and ranks third with 39 hits for the season. Additionally, she has played a pivotal leadership role on defense, recording 43 assists with a .988 fielding percentage.
