Ketchum paces Tech at Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. – Virginia Tech women's golfer Morgan Ketchum carded a 3-over 219 (71-74-74) to tie for 33rd and lead the Hokies at the Clemson Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at The Reserve at Lake Keowee (par 72, 6,441 yards).

Ketchum, who shared the individual title last year at this event, got off to a strong start in Friday's opening round, signing for a 1-under 71 – her ninth par-or-better round of the season. The sophomore logged a team-best seven birdies on the weekend.

As a team, Virginia Tech placed 15th at 25-over 889 (292-295-302). Vanderbilt topped the team standings at 12-under 852 (280-281-291), six shots clear of runner-up Texas A&M (858). LSU, led by individual champion Ingrid Lindblad, took third at 3-under 861. Lindbland lapped the field behind her 18-under 198 (66-67-65). Adela Cernousek of Texas A&M was the runner-up at 8-under 208.

The Hokies are back on the course April 8-9 at the NC State Match Play. Lonnie Poole Golf Course will serve as the host site for the match play event in Raleigh, N.C.
