CHAPEL HILL, NC – Mekhi Lewis wrapped up his Atlantic Coastal Conference career with his fourth conference title and Thomas Stewart, Jr. secured his first title in his first visit to lead the Virginia Tech wrestling team to a second-place finish at the 2024 ACC Championships. The Hokies also secured seven automatic allocations to the 2024 NCAA Championships in Kansas City.
The Legacy Grows

Lewis racked up two victories on Sunday en route to his fourth title – dispatching Alex Faison of NC State in the semifinals 5-1 in a controlling match from start to finish for the Hokie. Lewis would then follow up his performance with a veteran display over 2023 ACC 165-pound champion Justin McCoy of Virginia in the finals. With the score tied at 1 with just under :30 left in the bout, Lewis would score on a single and flip McCoy to his back to collect the takedown and nearfall for the 8-1 victory and end his illustrious conference career.

Stewart would open with a victory over returning two-time All-American Gavin Kane in sudden victory after leading 4-2 late into the third period. Stewart would be hit with two stall points which sent the bout to sudden victory where the Hokie would fire a blast double off the whistle to end the match. He would then advance to the finals and rack up two takedowns, an escape, and riding time to secure a controlling 8-5 victory over NC State's Dylan Fishback to take the title at 184-pounds.
