Becca DiNunzio ties for 17th at Valspar Augusta Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Becca DiNunzio, playing as an individual, carded an even-par 216 to tie for 17th at the Valspar Augusta Invitational, which concluded Sunday at Forest Hills Golf Club (par 72, 6,261 yards).

The fifth-year student fired an impressive 4-under 68 in Sunday's final round to go along with back-to-back rounds of 74. DiNunzio finished with nine birdies over her three rounds.

Virginia Tech finished 15th out of 17 teams in the event, which was won by Ole Miss at 8-under 856 (276-283-297). South Carolina was the runner-up at 5-under 859 (283-283-293). The Hokies signed for an 896 (298-298-300).

Florida State's Mirabel Ting prevailed in the individual race behind a 7-under 209 (68-74-67). There was a three-way tie for second place at 5-under 211 between Hannah Darling of South Carolina, LoraLie Cowart of Georgia and Natacha Husted of Ole Miss.

Tech is back in action March 22-24 at the Clemson Invitational in Sunset, South Carolina. Clemson will host the 54-hole event at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
