Women’s basketball ranked 16th in AP Poll Monday afternoon

The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is ranked 16th in the AP Poll the organization announced Monday afternoon.
 


The Hokies are 18-4 (9-2) on the season following two wins against rivals Virginia and North Carolina last week.
 
Thursday against the Cavaliers, Elizabeth Kitley and Georgia Amoore combined for 53 points as Tech won its fifth consecutive game in the series. Sunday in a nationally televised clash, Tech went into Carmichael Arena and defeated the then-No. 24 Tar Heels 70-61 in overtime, in what was also their fifth straight win against Carolina. Amoore led the Hokies with 21 points, while Kitley (15) and Matilda Ekh (14) were also in double figures.
 
Tech is back in action on Thursday, Feb. 8 for an 8 p.m. tip against the No. 3 NC State Wolfpack. That game can be seen on ACCN.
 
The Hokies will be back home on Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum on Sunday, Feb. 11 for a 1 p.m. tip against the Boston College Eagles. That game can be seen on ACCNX. Ticket packages are available HERE.
