Some History
Tech became just the sixth school to host ESPN College GameDay ahead of a women's basketball game and the first-ever ACC school to do so. The Hokies are now the fourth school to host GameDay on both the men's and women's side. Lastly, Tech is one of three schools to host GameDay for the big three – football, men's and women's basketball.
The Last Time
On Feb. 26, 2011, Virginia Tech men's basketball played host to then-No. 1 Duke and earned the upset win with a 64-60 victory inside Cassell. But before the big win, the College GameDay crew was on site beforehand and it was a spectacle for Hokie Nation. Featuring the likes of Jay Bilas, Dick Vitale and more from ESPN, to head coach Seth Greenberg and Malcolm Delaney, it was a fun day to be a Hokie.
