Kenny Brooks was named to the 2024 Werner Ladder Naismith Women's Coach of the Year Late Season Watch List the Atlanta Tipoff Club/Naismith Awards announced Wednesday afternoon. For Brooks, it is the second consecutive season that he has made the list, last season in 2023, he was a finalist for the honor.

In his eighth season at Virginia Tech, Brooks has elevated the program to new heights including an ACC title in 2023 and a trip to the Final Four in Dallas, both firsts for the program.

The Hokies are ranked eighth in the AP Poll and are 22-4 and in sole possession of first place in the ACC with a 13-2 record. His team owns the only victories by road teams this season at Syracuse, NC State and Louisville, the other teams currently occupying the top four spots in the conference.

This season, Tech is 5-3 against ranked opposition and were tenth in the D1 Women's Basketball Committee's top-16 reveal last week.

Tech, which is 14-0 at home this season, owns a 24-game home winning streak in Cassell Coliseum ahead of Senior Day on Sunday, Feb. 25 vs. North Carolina at 2 p.m. ESPN's College GameDay will be live from Carilion Clinic Court from 11 a.m. to noon. A victory would tie the program record of 25 consecutive wins in Cassell set back in 1994.

The UNC game is sold out, but fans are encouraged to visit SeatGeek, the official secondary ticket marketplace of Virginia Tech Athletics.
