MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Virginia Tech women's golf team placed 17th at the 2024 Moon Golf Invitational, which wrapped up play Tuesday afternoon at Suntree Country Club Classic Course (par 72, 6,503 yards).
Junior Katherine Lemke and sophomore Morgan Ketchum led the Hokies' efforts, ending the tournament tied for 51st. Lemke tallied 40 pars over the course of the weekend, helping VT rank second in pars overall as a team.
The Hokies tied for the tournament lead in eagles, tallying two of them – both by Ketchum. The first came in the opening round on hole 17, a par 4, and the second came in the final round on hole 18, a par 5.
LSU ran away with a commanding second tournament title of the season, scoring a 14-under 850 (283-290-277). Auburn trailed behind in second, signing for a 2-over 866 (282-291-293).
Florida's Maisie Filler took home the individual title following a 9-under 207 (66-69-72) performance. LSU's Ingrid Lindblad (70-72-68) and Aine Donegan (70-69-71) tied for second place in the individual standings, each putting up a 6-under 210.
The Hokies play next at the Valspar Augusta Invitational in Augusta, Georgia. The two-day tournament is March 9-10 at Forest Hills Golf Club.
