The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is ranked eighth in the AP Poll the organization announced Monday afternoon.

The Hokies are 22-4 (13-2) on the season following two wins against Duke and Louisville last week.

Thursday against Duke, the Hokies grinded out a 61-56 victory, led by Elizabeth Kitley's 34-point double-double. Sunday afternoon, the Hokies earned the program's first win at Louisville in the ACC era as they went for 86 points on 65% shooting from the field, a program record in an ACC contest.
