What did the beginning of your lacrosse journey look like? I had always been involved in lacrosse, especially since my sister (Jocelyn Torres), who's one year older than me, is in the sport. Therefore, lacrosse has been in my life basically since I was born.
How have you been able to translate your high school lacrosse experience to now playing here at Virginia Tech? I was unfortunately injured for a lot of my high school career, and we also had that COVID year thrown in there, which was difficult. But through it all, I was a motivator and big supporter of my teams, always hyping them up and I've brought that with me to Virginia Tech.
What has been your favorite part of practice so far? I love the Orange vs. Maroon games we have at practices. They're always such competitive games, and so much fun. I am on maroon and my sister Jocelyn is on the orange team which always makes for some great competition since I'm an attacker, and she's a goalie so we get to face off often.
Is there anything you're specifically looking forward to in the spring? I'm definitely looking forward to playing UNC. That will be a big game. Besides that, I'm just looking forward to playing on the field at this level, against such insane players that I've been watching as I came up through the sport.
Besides attack, do you expect to contribute to the team in any other position this season? I've been working with our draw groups to get better at taking the draw, so I'm hoping to continue improving in that area as we continue our practices the rest of the year.
What are your academic goals while at Tech? I'm majoring in clinical neuroscience. I just hope to do well, and my goal is to eventually attend medical school. Even though it has been a challenge to balance lacrosse with school, I've really enjoyed it so far.
Why did you end up committing to Virginia Tech? I felt like it was home when I stepped on campus. The campus is beautiful and it is close to home which I knew I wanted, and everything was just perfect and fell into place for me.
