CHARLOTTE – Virginia Tech center Elizabeth Kitley earned ACC Player of the Week honors the conference announced Monday afternoon. For the graduate student, it is her second time winning the award this season and 11th time in her illustrious career.

Last week she recorded two games with 27 points and 12 rebounds as the Hokies defeated Wake Forest on the road and then third-ranked NC State at home on Sunday afternoon.

The graduate student won Sunday's contest in the final seconds as the Hokies trailed the Wolfpack by a single point when Cayla King lobbed a sideline out of bounds pass to Kitley in the post who put up a shot off the glass to give the Hokies the win.

Kitley ranks third in the ACC in scoring at (20.93), first in rebounds (11.5), second in blocks (2.21) and first in double-doubles with 10.

She also became the program's all-time leader in minutes played Sunday.

The Hokies are 12-2 (3-0) on the season following a huge 63-62 victory over the third-ranked NC State Wolfpack at Cassell Sunday afternoon. The capacity crowd of 8,925 was the first regular season sellout in program history.

Tech is back home on Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum on Thursday, Jan. 11 for an 8 p.m. tip against the 11-2 (1-2) Miami Hurricanes. That game can be seen on ACC Network. Ticket packages are available HERE.
