CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Wednesday afternoon, the ACC announced that 10 Hokies were named to the 2023 All-ACC Academic Team. This ties last year's mark as the highest number of All-ACC Academic honorees for the Hokies in the Marci Byers and ACC eras. Tech earned a 3.39 GPA in the fall of 2023.

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests. Hanna Borer, Elayna Duprey, Ava Francis and Sydney Petersen were also named to the 2022 All-ACC Academic Team, while the remaining six receive the honor for the first time.

In addition, for the fifth year in a row, Virginia Tech was named a recipient of the USMC/AVCA Academic Award heading into the 2023 season, having a team average of 3.30 or higher during the 2022 season.
